Plant Surmin-Kaolin S.A. in Nowogrodziec, is located in Poland, in the south-west of Lower Silesia, about 130 kilometers west of Wrocław and about 50 kilometers east of the Polish-German border.
The plant has been part of the Quarzwerke Group since 1998.
Surmin – Kaolin produces kaolins and quartz sands. Kaolins are used mainly in the ceramic and paper industry, as well as in the production of fiberglass, rubber, adhesives, paints and varnishes, and plastics. Quartz sands are used primarily in the production of glass packaging and in ceramics.
